July brings the best of summer events to the Boston Metro area! Begin the month by celebrating Boston’s role in American history with re-enactments and tours. Boston Metro Area July Festivals and Events

June 30 – July 4: Boston Harborfest 2017. Revolutionary War re-enactments, walking tours, U.S. naval ships, free concerts, cruises, museum exhibits, and much more! Many of Boston Harborfest events are free or reasonably priced. Visit the website for the full schedule of events!

July 1, 2, 3: Revelry on Griffin’s Wharf. Experience a bustling colonial wharf with activities, games and interactive performances. Throw tea into Boston Harbor! Explore two 18th century ships and more.

July 4: Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. Free concert starting at 8:30 p.m., with the famous 30-minute fireworks show following at 10:30 p.m.

July 4: Braintree July 4h Celebration. Parade steps off at 11:45 a.m. from the parking lot of the Registry of Motor Vehicles, taking a right on  Plain Street and then another right onto Hancock Street. Parade proceeds north on Hancock Street through South Braintree Square. Food truck festival starts at 2 p.m. on the Braintree High School grounds, with live music starting at 3:30 p.m. Fun zone for kids, activities and entertainment leading up to fireworks at 10 p.m.

July 8: Chinatown Main Street Festival. Experience a Chinese cultural celebration with live entertainment including a lion dance and folk dances. Also featuring delicious food, plus arts & crafts vendors and merchants. 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

July 14: The Bastille Day Party. A virtual trip to Paris with authentic French music, food and drinks! Marlborough Street will be blocked off between Berkeley and Clarendon Streets to accommodate 2,000 revelers. Enjoy food and beverages from Boston’s finest French restaurants, along with live entertainment! 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. Tickets required; get yours soon, this event sells out!

July 21-23: The International Sand Sculpting Festival at Revere Beach is famous for its Master Sand Sculptor Competition, which draws competing teams from several nations. There is a full entertainment lineup with live music, plus a kid’s zone, fireworks, amusement rides and food trucks.

July 22-23: Boston SouthCoast Comic Con. Find comics, collectibles, toys and oddities to enhance your collections. Celebrity appearances by pop-culture stars, plus comic artists and live entertainment. Hanover Mall Event Center. Admission required, see website for details.
