Aug 31: Boston Labor Day Weekend Fireworks. 8:30 p.m. Spectacular fireworks shot from two barges! Best viewing locations include Piers Park, Christopher Columbus Park, Long Wharf and Seaport’s Fan Pier. Free!
Sept 2-Oct 22: King Richard’s Faire. Step back in time with jousting exhibitions, artisans, live performers, colorful costumed revelers and more. Carver, MA.
Sept 9-10: Boston Arts Festival 2017. This year’s festival includes over 70 juried local artists and craftspeople, plus live music on the Waterfront Stage. Held at Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park. Free admission.
Sept 16: South Boston Street Festival. Two stages of live music and dance, over 100 artists and local merchants, plus plenty of food and children’s activities. Located on East Broadway between I and L streets. Free admission.
Sept 16: College Fest at Fenway Park welcomes college students back to school with live music, entertainment, free giveaways and contests. Bring your student I.D.
Sept 16-17: 20th Annual Arts Fest presented by the Quincy Art Association. One of the best family-oriented art shows around Boston and the South Shore, featuring hand-crafted items and photography. Juried competition, plus art for sale. Held at Adams Field in Quincy.
Sept 17: The Boston Local Food Festival is an outdoor food festival with offerings from local farmers and restaurants, specialty food producers, fishermen and organizations promoting healthy food and fitness. Enjoy chef demos, a seafood competition, live music and performances, and a family fun zone. Located at the Rose Kennedy Greenway.
Sept 21-24: The Boston Film Festival celebrates evolving filmmakers and regional talent with premiere screenings, Q & A sessions with directors, and artistic achievement awards.
