Swan Boats open for the season April 14, weather permitting, at the Boston Public Garden lagoon. Enjoy a relaxing, non-motorized cruise in a picturesque setting.

Patriots’ Day events happen around the Boston Metro area throughout the month, beginning April 7. Here is the schedule of events and ceremonies.

The Boston Marathon happens April 16! Pre-marathon weekend events begin April 14. The historic 26-mile race begins in Hopkinton and ends in Copley Square; click here for the course map. About 30,000 international participants are expected.

Boston Collage Arts Festival takes place April 26-28, featuring art exhibitions, demonstrations, live music, dance and theater performances; literary readings and film screenings.

Run of the Charles Canoe & Kayak Race happens April 29. The Run of the Charles is the largest flat-bottomed boat race in New England! Over 1,500 racers participate, drawing spectators from around the Greater Boston area. Enjoy the finish-line festival with live music and food!
