July brings the best of summer to the Boston Metro! Celebrate Boston’s role in American history with re-enactments and tours. Enjoy our spectacular Independence Day celebrations, followed by special festivals throughout the month. Here’s a list of popular events you won’t want to miss!
July Festivals and Events in the Boston Metro
June 28 – July 4: Boston Harborfest 2018. Revolutionary War re-enactments, walking tours, free concerts, cruises, museum exhibits, and much more! Many of Boston Harborfest events are free or reasonably priced. Visit the website for the full schedule of events!
June 29 – July 1: Revelry on Griffin’s Wharf. Experience a bustling colonial wharf with activities, games and interactive performances. Throw tea into Boston Harbor! Explore naval history on 18th century ships. Fireworks over the harbor on June 30 at 9 p.m.
July 4: Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. Free concert starting at 8:00 p.m., with the famous 30-minute fireworks show following at 10:30 p.m.
July 4: Braintree July 4th Celebration. Parade starts 11:45 a.m. from the Registry of Motor Vehicles Parking lot, taking a right on Plain Street and then another right on Hancock Street. Parade proceeds north on Hancock through South Braintree Square. Food truck festival at 2 p.m. on the Braintree High School grounds, with live music starting at 3:30 p.m. Activities and entertainment continue until fireworks at 10 p.m.
July 7: Chinatown Main Street Festival. Experience a Chinese cultural celebration! Live entertainment including a traditional lion dance and folk dances. Also featuring delicious food, arts & crafts vendors and merchants. 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
July 13: Bastille Day Party. A virtual trip to Paris with authentic French music, food and drinks! Marlborough Street will be blocked off between Berkeley and Clarendon Streets to accommodate revelers. Food and beverages from Boston’s finest French restaurants, along with live entertainment! 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. Tickets required! Get yours soon, this event sells out!
July 20-22: International Sand Sculpting Festival. Revere Beach is famous for its Master Sand Sculptor Competition, which draws competing teams from several nations. Full entertainment lineup including live music, kids’ zone, fireworks, amusement rides and food trucks.
July 21-22: Festival Betances. New England’s longest-running Latino festival! Held in Boston’s South End at the Villa Victoria Community, 100 W. Dedham St. Enjoy Latin music and dance, along with delicious food, arts and crafts, children’s activities and parade. See website for details!
